Ash's Age
So, just how old is Ash supposed to be anyway? At the beginning of the series, we know that he is indeed ten years old. When Ash and co. go to the Viridian Gym later on, it's said that a year has passed since he started his journey which would make him eleven by then, surely? The passing of time hasn't been specifically mentioned since then, so we don't actually know how many years it has been since he started his journey now. Even if you say he's turned a year older with each year of the anime, that doesn't really make sense because as of 2009, that would make Ash 22 years old. There is no way that Ash is 22 years old. I'd say that he could be fourteen years old at the very maximum, if he was actually aging. Thing is, he apparently isn't aging. When the Advanced Generation started, the official Japanese website had character bios up and Ash's bio claimed that he was the same age as May. May was ten years old when starting her journey. Also, Dawn is ten years old and Ash is very much the same height as her. If he was older than her, don't you think he'd be a little taller than her? Either that or Ash is just a shorty. Officially, Ash is still ten years old. However, he never mentions his age or anything like that in the anime, so I guess we're free to imagine whatever we like. I wonder what Ash would look like at 22? He would look so dreamy and hot... *sigh* It's pretty clear people don't seem to age at all in the anime anyway. Brock's siblings, for example, are still the same age as they were in the fifth episode of the anime, including the very little ones. If everyone was aging, you would definitely notice some change in them, wouldn't you? Little children grow very fast after all. While time may pass, nobody ages. It makes no sense... but a lot of things don't make sense in this anime anyway.
